[ARIRANG NEWS] S. Korea to readjust social distancing measures as early as Friday | South Korea News – KoreaAgain

정부 “내일부터 환자 증가할듯…거리두기 조정안 26∼27일 발표”

South Korea’s daily COVID-19 tally remained below 400.
But as this is mainly due to fewer tests conducted on the weekend, authorities plan to readjust distancing rules.
Kim Dami fills us in.
The current social distancing measures will expire this coming Sunday, and so the next adjustment will be announced as early as Friday.
Son Youngrae, the head of the Central Disaster Management Headquarters, has said that some details could come out Wednesday.
It’s unclear whether the measures will be tightened or loosened, but one area under review is the current nationwide ban on private gatherings of five or more people.
Son said that the government is now soliciting opinions from small business owners.
With 357 new cases on Tuesday, the number has been in the 300s for two straight days.
But an uptick is expected this week, and cluster infections are popping up especially at factories.
In fact, more than 500 people at factories, including foreign workers, have been infected in the past two weeks.
The Prime Minister said Tuesday that it’s more important than ever to follow the quarantine measures, and warned violators that they’ll lose their eligibility for financial aid.
“The “one strike out” policy will apply, without exception, to businesses that violate the quarantine measures, and they will also be excluded from the fourth round of relief funds soon to be distributed.”
If caught under the “one strike out” rule, businesses will have to close for two weeks.
As for people who’ve been diagnosed with COVID-19, they will be allowed to take national qualification tests like the bar exam.
As long as they notify a public health center that they plan to take the test, their local government will arrange for them to take it at a hospital.
The Justice Ministry made the change after the Constitutional Court struck down a rule saying that the bar exam would not admit COVID-19 patients
