Mallorca, the biggest of the Balearic Islands.

Mallorca, the biggest of the Spanish Balearic Islands.
This island has for a long time been very popular among tourists and the number of visitors keeps on growing each year. A rough estimate of 10 million tourists visit these islands annually. Mainly the tourists come from Germany, England, France, Switzerland, and other parts of Europe.

This is because the islands are close to all of these countries while still hosting perfect weather all year round. Combine this with beaches, sea, sun and lots of beautiful and fascinating places with a lot of history and it is easy to see why Mallorca is so popular. Besides this, it is quite an economic destination that is very well built up to accommodate tourists. The island’s capital, Palma de Mallorca, is a vibrant, modern city with a labyrinth of narrow streets. Palma is rightfully proud of its historical center.

Climate in Mallorca

The tourist season begins in April and ends in October. High season falls in July and August – during these months the island experiences a lot of visitors. But perhaps the most favorable time to relax in Mallorca is the end of August – September, by this time the weather is still beautiful and the wave of tourism has slowed down.

Mallorca is an amazing place, but to know the real Mallorca, you need to travel inland. Here the nature of the island is rich and diverse with exotic flora and fauna surprising all those who decide to move off the coast at least a few kilometers. The northwestern part of Mallorca attracts attention with ancient villages and bays. The mountainous terrain of the southern regions is cut by fertile groves of olives and almonds. Windmills often found on the plateaus, give a special charm and image to the island. Prices will fall with every kilometer you move away from the beaches and the cities and in the center of the island, the prices will be equal to the mainland-Spain.

Major resorts of Mallorca

Alcudia is a popular tourist destination with the resorts Platja d’Alcudia, Platja de Muro and C’an Picafort. When here most tourist’s attention can experience the ancient city walls, the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Pollenca and the well-preserved amphitheater.
