[Culture] Spain Opens Applications for 2026 Youth Cultural Voucher…€400 Support for 18-Year-Olds

Spain has opened applications for the Bono Cultural Joven 2026, a cultural voucher program designed to support young people’s access to culture. The program provides €400 to eligible young people who turn 18 in 2026.

The application period runs from June 22 to October 31, 2026. Eligible applicants must complete the process through the official Bono Cultural Joven platform. Once approved, beneficiaries receive a prepaid card or digital payment method that can be used for cultural purchases and activities within the program’s rules.

The voucher is available to young people who meet the eligibility requirements, including Spanish nationals and legally resident foreign nationals in Spain. The program also includes eligible asylum applicants and beneficiaries of temporary protection, provided they meet the conditions established for the scheme.

The €400 benefit is divided across several cultural categories. Beneficiaries can use part of the amount for live cultural events, performing arts, cinema, museums, exhibitions, festivals, and similar activities. Another portion can be used for physical cultural products such as books, magazines, newspapers, music recordings, and audiovisual products. A separate allocation is available for digital or online cultural content, including subscriptions and digital cultural services.

For 2026, the program also expands the range of eligible uses. In addition to traditional cultural products and services, the voucher can be used for selected instruments, artistic materials, and culture-related training activities. This broadens the program from cultural consumption alone to participation in artistic creation and learning.

The Bono Cultural Joven has become one of Spain’s key youth cultural policies. Its purpose is to encourage young people to engage with cultural life at the moment they reach adulthood, while also supporting the cultural and creative sectors. The 2026 edition continues that objective by combining access to cultural events, cultural products, digital content, and creative learning opportunities.

Young people who qualify for the program should check the application requirements, complete registration before the deadline, and confirm where the voucher can be used. The approved benefit remains available for a limited period after activation, so beneficiaries should plan their cultural purchases and activities in advance.
