코로나19로 바뀐 스포츠 일정,… US오픈 96년만 지역 예선 취소, 월드 팀 테니스는 예정대로 개막
With the global coronavirus pandemic showing no sign of abating any time soon,… more global sporting events are making changes to their schedules.
The USGA has scrapped qualifying for all of its remaining championships this year including qualifying for the US Open.
Only four of the 14 championships this year now remain.
The US Open, which had already been postponed from June to September, will, for the first time in 96 years, only feature golfers exempt from having to qualify.
Meanwhile in tennis, World Team Tennis says it will be still on track to open its three-week season this July.
The head of WTT says it is hoping to select a site this week,… with currently four cities in Texas and Florida “in the mix.”
