The most common and popular seafood dish is considered “pescaditos fritos” – an assortment of fried seafood. Slices of mullet, squid, shrimp and various shellfish are served on a large dish; in most Marbella restaurants, such a dish is prepared only on the grill.
A significant portion of common meat dishes in Marbella are prepared from pork. It can be fried on a grill or in a usual frying pan, included in various meat stews and added to soups, and a special type of ham – jamon, is prepared from selected varieties of pork.
